The Humble Moon & WLTM

Hello all,

Today I’m bringing you two new poems, which don’t quite fall into the Friday Flash area, but they’re as near as they can be at the moment. With an important report due for the PhD, the writing has to take a sideline to allow time to do the work. I don’t much like doing that, in the sense that I always like to be writing (and of course, I usually find ten minutes here and there to work on something), but I also like doing my work to the best of my ability, so it’s this way or no way at all.

After the chaos initiated by the Christmas holidays, I’ll be back to my regular Monday and Friday posts from next week, so don’t forget to check back for those. Without further ado, on to the new poetry.

The Humble Moon

The Sun’s a bit of a show off,
Lighting up the sky:
Giving a gaudy glow off
As the clouds go by.

But the Moon is perfectly humble;
Shining not so bright
That the stars have cause to grumble
When they share the night.

WLTM

poet and dreamer, 26,
good sense of humour
would like to meet

YOU

it’s always been you
