Generic Update

I had an idea for a post about some of the gender related stories that have been circulating in the wake of the mass shooting in the US, but maybe that’s a post for another time. I’m not reluctant to write it, but I feel a bit drained at the moment with being so busy, so I might collect some thoughts rather than meander in my usual fashion. It’s a thing that needs careful handling, I think.

In the meantime, I thought I’d keep you all updated with what I’m doing. I am pushing ahead with a few writing projects, but maybe not at the speed I’d like. I find these things run in cycles, but I do need to be more proactive in motivating myself. Who doesn’t though? I’m carving a nice slice of comic book at the moment, but I’m constantly aware that if DC don’t like the idea then it’s a bit of a non-starter (it uses a trademark of theirs and doesn’t work without it). But hey ho, I’m enjoying the format at the moment and the story. I will get back to the novel soon.

Ideas for Tornmile 2 are starting to percolate and that will return as promised later in the year. I look forward to sharing the next book with you all. Mishak, Johreel and Brielle will ride again. Expect blood, betrayal, politics, and the ever closing web of conspiracy. And some love just to take the edge off. Every time I think about Tornmile I think about how much I’ve missed these characters and I guess that makes me both a little crazy and a little excited.

I’m also working on a few theatre projects at the moment. There’s The Trial by Berkoff/Kafka which I am co-directing with the wonderful Edward Spence. It’s surreal, conceptual, and beautifully crazy. You can keep up with news for that over at the play’s website (here). I’m also in a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in which I will be playing Demetrius. It’s set in 20s America and is looking to be a fantastic production with some fantastic people. More information on that available here.

It’s busy busy busy but I’ll try to keep updating here as much as possible and bring you some original content as well. Hopefully you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it. In the meantime, keep smiling!
