Not Perfect & Other Poems

Not Perfect

My body is not perfect
   except when kissed you
My body is not perfect
except when you give it things to do.

My body is not perfect
and this I know you know
My body is not perfect
except when you teach it how to flow.

My body is not perfect
although it’s never been more true
My body is not perfect
   except when kissed by you.

From Afar

You like me from afar, I think
about inviting you to come
out with me for a friendly drink
that might be greater than the sum.

You like me from afar, I feel
that you are playing hard to get.
I ought to have you for a meal
but I haven’t had you yet.

I feel the same as you, so look
sharp and meet me in the bar:
because we’re only friends on Facebook
you only like me from afar.

Like, Like

Do you, like, like me
The way I, like, like you?
I pray to, like, God
That you, like, like me too.

I want to, like, kiss you
And hold, like, your hand.
I, like, have no control
It’s like a, like, demand.

My head’s, like, a mess.
My heart is, like, blue.
Unless you, like, tell me
That you, like, like me too.
