Dawn Chorus & Other Poems

Dawn Chorus

And I want to lay naked with you
in the early morning sunshine
kissing songs across your spine

to whisper my fingertips on your skin
in chorus with the birds
that play outside the window

And my skin plays songs on your fingertip
to whisper with the birds
in chorus outside the window

in the naked early morning
I want to lay in with you
kissing sunshine across your spine

Death of a Poet

Her blood flowing
was a sanguine song
her last breath a
                         haiku
two syllables
                    too
                         long

Yellow Paint

Yellow paint in hair of gold
Eyes – a secret never told
Beyond – a mind, ever bold

So very few can compare
Bright, wide smile – ever fair
And yellow paint in golden hair
